Drive Blue provides services in Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Nhulunbuy, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs, and works across regional and remote NT communities by arrangement.

Does Drive Blue only work with learner drivers?

No. Drive Blue works with learner drivers, newly licensed drivers, overseas licence holders, organisations, schools, community groups, rehabilitation providers and remote communities. Our services cover individual training, licensing support, road safety education, corporate assessments and structured programs.

Driving Lessons

How do I book a driving lesson?

How long are driving lessons?

Lessons are typically one hour, though longer sessions can be arranged. The duration is confirmed when you book.

Do I need to have driven before?

No. Drive Blue works with complete beginners through to experienced drivers preparing for a test. Your first lesson will be tailored to your experience level.

What car is used for lessons?

Drive Blue uses a dual-control vehicle fitted with instructor controls for safety. Vehicle details are confirmed at the time of booking.

Can Drive Blue help me prepare for my driving test?

Yes. Drive Blue offers targeted driving test preparation, including mock test sessions, feedback on areas for improvement and guidance on what assessors look for during a NT practical driving test.

What is a practical driving assessment?

A practical driving assessment evaluates a person's ability to drive safely. Drive Blue provides assessment support services for people requiring structured evaluation for licensing, re-engagement or compliance purposes.

Can I use a Drive Blue vehicle for my driving test?

Licence Support and Transfers

Can Drive Blue help me get my licence if I have never had one?

Yes. Drive Blue provides licence support for people working through the licensing process for the first time, or people returning after a break, disqualification or long gap.

I have an overseas licence. Can Drive Blue help me transfer to an Australian licence?

Yes. Drive Blue offers overseas licence transfer support, including preparation for Australian road rules, practical driving preparation and help navigating the licensing process.

I have lost my licence. Can Drive Blue help me get it back?

What is the Back on Track program?

The Back on Track program is a structured drink and drug driver education program for people referred through justice, rehabilitation or community pathways. Drive Blue delivers this program in partnership with referring organisations.
